Attendees: Rob Miller - President Eugene Whye - Vice President Sandra Whye - Block Watch Coordinator 23 Community Members Agenda: New Castle County Police Cpl. Wesley Reynolds represented our assigned Officer Jerrian Blythe of the New Castle County Police who was unable to attend. He talked at length about their procedures when responding to various community requests/calls. He talked about making sure your alarm systems are working properly. He suggested due to the increase in burglaries we should keep our outside house lights on. He covered Burglary Prevention. Window air conditioners make easy access for thiefs.
When you see someone or something strange in the neighborhood, call right away 302.573.2800 so that an officer can be dispatched as soon as possible. He provided a web site we can access to receive Crime Alerts ( www.nccpd.com Tips/Alerts ). They've partnered with CitizenObserver.com.
Fishing is allowed in our pond as long as you have a "Legal Fishing License". The fish do have to be returned to the pond after they're caught.

Board Updates The Board is soliciting bids on possibly contracting a Property Management group that specializes in billing and collecting all homeowners dues and sending violation letters and coordinating with attorneys. Receiving, investigating and responding to homeowners complaints with a 24-hr answering service, just to name a few things they offer. The one company was Aspen Property Management, Inc. There cost would be $60/household with no increase in dues. Goal is to increase/maintain property values. Looking at a decision by 12/31/12.
Out of 200 homes in the community, 80 homes owe Association dues. Eight (8) delinquent accounts went to court cost was $6k including attorney fees. All accounts delinquent on 10/31/12 will go to collections. Arrangments can be made to pay on installment by contacting the Board.

Community Discussions: Updates on the change in shed size. Informed the attendees we still need 75% of community to agree by signing a petition. It's not been successful in the past. Anyone that wants to pursue this may do so contact the Board. How to prevent vandilism in the park. Graffitti needs to be cleaned off equipment. Bubble is broke. Some members volunteered to clean the graffitti. A trash can was requested but there would be no one to empty it. It was also suggested we get some kind of light(s) at the park to minimize the activity at night. The President will check into it to see if Delmarva possibly installs.
12th District State Senate Candidate: Nicole Poore was in attendance and spoke with us on the her role as State Representative and how she can benefit our community by attending our Civic Association meetings, bringing updates and staying linked to her website, www.NicolePoore.com 302.562.2106.
