COMMUNITY MEETING
7:30 PM, Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 Ommelanden Range Conference Room
Attendees: President, Rob Miller; Vice-President, Eugene Whye; 5 Residents
Agenda:
Budget - 2011 Budget was introduced, votes counted, budget approved as presented.
Newsletter -
Christmas Light Decorating Contest judging will be held December 18th @ 7p. You need to register via the website WMCBoard@wynthorpe.org
Playground - has been weeded and mulched. Two entrances have been weeded, mulched and flowers planted.
Snow removal - Current contractor charges per inch for removal which is more beneficial and more cost effective. Previous contractor charged a flat rate regardless of the amount of snow which proved to be more expensive.
The current contractor also does landscaping so plans are underway to combine all services for better contract rates and consistency with service.
The County has given a slight increase for snow removal reimbursement.
Rte 9 Blind Spots - Del Dot is removing trees & obstructions ( blind spots) along Rte 9 to allow motorists clearer visibility.
Street Lights - Any resident can report a street light that is out to Delmarva. We ALL should take care of our own street. Don't give criminals an opportunity to hideout in the dark.
Finances: Checking Account Balance $52,114.39; Money Market Account Balance $29,201.19.
Assessments - those whose bills are still delinquent accounts have been forwarded to collections. If arrangements are needed please contact the Board before receiving your collection notice.
Sheds - there will be a Wynthorpe Resident coming around to gather additional signatures needed to change the by-laws for shed sizes.
2011 Board of Directors - The same officers will remain. If anyone wants to serve on the board please contact us at the Website.
Block Watch - quarterly report read. The County Police is alerting and encouraging the Community Residents to pay extra attention to suspicious persons/vehicles in our community. Also we each should practice good personal and home safety. They are telling everyone to keep their vehicles secured. Also be aware that everyone is not in the holiday spirit and are out looking for those who can be easily victimized.
ANY TIME YOU SEE SOMETHING SUSPICIOUS CALL THE COUNTY POLICE AT 302-395-8050 AND MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM THAT YOU LIVE AT WYNTHORPE COMMUNITY AND WE HAVE A BLOCK WATCH IN EFFECT. GIVE AS MUCH DETAIL AS YOU CAN.
